Mare Straw is a perennial plant with a ragged upright growth. The leaves are rigid and flat and both sides are gray-green. The plant blooms in June-July, where you can see tall shoots sticking up over the leaf. Each shot has an axis which in turn consists of a large number of smaller axes sitting side by side at each of the joints. Mare straw spreads both with underground outlets and knows that small axes and seeds break off and are carried around by the wind. The plant can grow up to 1.20 meters high.
