Grayling is a butterfly in the rooftop family. In Denmark, in some places it is common and prefers dry sunny areas and is often seen in the dunes near the beach. It flies from mid-May to late September. The greyling is beautiful amber-brown with black drawings on the wings. The male has a wide stripe obliquely across the upper side of the front wing. Both sexes here also have a clear black eyeball.
