Birdsfoot trefoil are in the family with many species and can be confused. It is a perennial herbaceous plant with three linked leaves. The flowers are seen in June-August and they are in end-to-end screens with up to 7 flowers in each with a nice yellow color. The plant contains hydrocyanic acid, but not in amounts that are harmful to grazing animals, yet enough to snail and other pests remain away from the plant.
